Professional Background & Experience
Jerome Adams is a dedicated fitness professional with a passion for guiding people toward stronger, healthier lives—especially those in their 50s and beyond. With over four decades of experience spanning education, public service, and personal training, Jerome brings a rare depth of insight and compassion to his work. Today, as a certified personal trainer and instructor with NASM, ISSA, and ACE, he helps clients restore vitality and mobility through a holistic, mindset-first approach rooted in science and lifelong learning.

Since 2005, Jerome has worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer, specializing in both individual and group training formats. His classes range from traditional strength and conditioning to dynamic martial arts, cardio kickboxing, and boot camp sessions. While he’s trained people of all ages and fitness levels, he has a particular passion for working with older adults who want to age with strength, independence, and grace. His programs focus on longevity, functional movement, and mindset coaching—helping clients rebuild confidence along with physical capacity.

Before entering the fitness industry full time, Jerome spent over a decade as a lead educator in the Schenectady City School District, teaching students with special education needs across grades 3 through 12. There, he honed his ability to break down complex ideas, motivate people at all levels, and tailor his instruction to individual needs—skills that translate seamlessly into his work as a trainer. Prior to his time in education, Jerome served as a Committee Assistant in the New York State Assembly, supporting high-level legislative processes and public service initiatives.

A natural motivator and clear communicator, Jerome doesn’t just coach workouts—he helps clients reframe how they view their bodies, health, and potential. He takes time to assess each client’s progress and adapt programs as needed, weaving in insights on nutrition, recovery, and mental wellness. His belief is simple: “Health isn’t just what you do in the gym—it’s a conscious lifestyle choice essential for longevity and happiness.”

Jerome holds a degree in Art and Design from SUNY Binghamton and has continued his education with certifications in behavior change, nutrition, and program design. He’s led community initiatives like the Citizens’ Police Academy and youth art events with the Schenectady Police Department. Outside coaching, he produces community art and volunteers at the Denver Rescue Mission. He values service, discipline, and lifelong learning.
